This is a very unique sencha made by combining sencha leaves with matcha powder. This tea was designed to be the perfect cold brew, but it can be brewed warm as well. The matcha powder adds new dimension to the tea, giving it a fully body and extra power as a cold brew. The matcha powder also creates a beautiful jade green cloudy infusion in the first steeping. This tea has a powerful vegetal note to it, with some sweetness and a slight astringency in the aftertaste. The Shizuku is perhaps our best cold brew yet!
This tea comes to us from Chiran, a small farming town in the far south of Japan's Kyushu island. This area is in the shadow of mount Kaimondake, a large active volcano that can be seen from all over Chiran. This region benefits greatly from the nutrient rich volcanic soil and has allowed Chiran to become quite a strong agricultural hub.
Steep for 1 minutes at 60 degrees C/ 140 degrees F. Can be brewed 2-3 more times for 20 seconds each
