This is a limited edition matcha from the region of Shizuoka. It has a strong vegetable, edamame flavor with a nice creamy finish. It is a nice balance between powerful flavor and smooth taste. There is a light umami flavor with delicate floral notes. The matcha has a dense mouthfeel to it and a long smooth finish. The tea is similar to the Kakitsubata and Sesui, but it is smoother and milder.
This matcha comes to us from Fuji Matcha, a kind group of farmers who gave us a wonderful tour around Shizuoka in the fall of 2018. These farmers use innovative methods to grow organic tea in an efficient and environmentally friendly way. They use solar panels to provide shading to the tea plants and also generate power for the tea farm. They also use a very basic organic compost that not only helps nourish the tea, but also helps keep the plants warm during warmer months.
