In the first sip, this ceremonial matcha starts out strong with a smooth sweetness. The mouthfeel is quite thick and weighs heavily on the sides of the tongue. There is no astringency, but rather a full-bodied finish and a lingering umami flavor. This tea is rich, yet smooth, with a velvety feeling to it that is quite pleasant.

Meet the Farmer
This tea comes to us from the farmer Mr. Nuruki, a talented young farmer in Chiran. Mr. Nuruki operates a small farm in southern Japan where he is able to cultivate a wide range of tea plant varieties. He has been successful in blending these different tea varieties together to create a number of fantastic tea blends. These tea blends incorporate the best aspects of each tea variety, to create flavors that are well balanced and unique.
About the Farm
This tea is grown in the small town of Chiran in the southernmost tip of Kyushu. This region greatly benefits from the mild subtropical climate and the volcanic activity, creating nutrient rich soils and mild winters. Because this area is so warm, it allows for the growth of more delicate tea plant varieties, producing lighter and sweeter green teas.
How to Prepare it
Add 2 grams of matcha to a bowl and then pour in 100-150ml of 160-175F water. You can then scrape off the sides of the bowl and begin whisking with you matcha whisk

Always Pesticide Free
We make sure to only source teas from reputable farmers that grow tea without the use of conventional pesticides or chemicals. We meet with the farmers in person and tour the fields and facilities. We look at the sustainability of the field, the attention to detail and quality control of the facility and of course the taste of the tea.
