Kukicha is a stem tea made with a mixture of green tea leaves and tea stems. There are many reasons this tea has become popular amongst tea drinkers. First of all, it is more affordable than a lot of its green tea counterparts, and it still contains a lot of flavors. Kukicha is also lower in caffeine, which makes it a nice tea to enjoy in the evening.
In this Kukicha, you will notice a light hay flavor coming from the stems, but it still has the rich full umami flavor coming from the high-quality leaves. Kukicha is not as strong of a tea as a Gyokuro, but for about half the price you really get a good value from this tea.
Steeping: 60 seconds at 60 degrees Celcius. Can be steeped 3-4 times
