Get a tin of matcha for everyone in your family with the new matcha gift set! This set comes with 5 very different matcha teas and a bamboo tea whisk to create beautiful foamy bowls of matcha at home. Below is a list of the different matchas you will receive when you get this set.

Marufuku Matcha 30g

The Marufuku matcha is a beautiful blend of two premium matcha cultivars, Saemidori and Okumidori. From the Saemidori, the matcha gets a very light and sweet flavor with a pleasant vegetal note. From the Okumidori, the matcha inherits a smooth and creamy flavor with a thicker mouthfeel. Both the Saemidori and Okumidori matcha have become very popular, so we wanted to find a matcha that combined both cultivars into a well-balanced matcha that is both sweet and creamy. Because it is a mountain tea, it picks up a fresh and slightly more astringent flavor, making it a quite complex matcha.

Use 1-2 grams of matcha for 60ml of 175F/80C water

Gokou Matcha Koiai 40g

This matcha comes from the Gokou cultivar. Typically, this is a premium cultivar of matcha, known for its nice round sweetness and umami flavor. If you like a sweeter matcha, this is the best option for you to try. Compared to the Washimine, this tea is sweeter and more full-bodied. It is a very well balanced and flavorful matcha with almost no astringency. The taste is pretty fast, but it finishes with a round creamy flavor in the end.

 Preparation: 1-1.5g per 150ml; 80 degrees Celsius

Henta Matcha 30g

The Saemidori is coming more and more in vogue, thanks to its light sweetness with a slight grassy undertone. Compared to an Okumidori matcha, the Henta Matcha is much sweeter, with a slightly fresher taste. Compared to a Yabukita Matcha, this tea is smoother, more delicate and sweeter. You will notice a light sweetness right away, followed by an umami note towards the end, with some notes of fresh cut grass.

Whisk 1 gram of powder into 150ml of water at 175 degrees F/ 80 degrees C

Matcha Washimine 40g

The matcha made by Mr. Nakai comes from the cultivar okumidori. This superior cultivar is reserved for high-grade Gyokuro, Sencha and matcha. The excellence of this matcha comes from its very round and complete taste with a balance of creaminess, a full body and a fine silky note of fresh spinach and a hint of asparagus. The resulting tea produces a very well-rounded taste with no bitterness. Because of its supreme quality, this matcha is also used for koicha, a thick paste made from only the highest grade matcha.

Preparation:  1-1.5g  per  150ml;  80 degrees  Celsius

Matcha Sesui 40g

This Matcha is from the Yabukita cultivar, the most widely grown cultivar in Japan. The tea has a very strong vegetal flavor and a smooth creamy note of butternut. Unlike the Washimine, this tea has a tiny bit of astringency, but far less when compared with a standard matcha. This Matcha is of supreme quality, evident in its strong green color.

Preparation:  1-1.5g  per  150ml;  80 degrees  Celsius

Chasen Bamboo Matcha Whisk

The Chasen is the most important utensil for making a nice foamy bowl of matcha. This Chasen is made out of a single piece of bamboo, and each prong is delicately cut and curled to be the perfect whisking tool. If you want to make a beautifully creamy bowl of matcha at home, a Chasen is the most important tool you can own.
