The Marufuku matcha is a beautiful blend of two premium matcha cultivars, Saemidori and Okumidori. From the Saemidori, the matcha gets a very light and sweet flavor with a pleasant vegetal note. From the Okumidori, the matcha inherits a smooth and creamy flavor with a thicker mouthfeel. Both the Saemidori and Okumidori matcha have become very popular, so we wanted to find a matcha that combined both cultivars into a well-balanced matcha that is both sweet and creamy. Because it is a mountain tea, it picks up a fresh and slightly more astringent flavor, making it a quite complex matcha.
Use 1-2 grams of matcha for 70-100ml of 175F/80C water
